The view from the bus

That week I took the bus to work turns out to have been a fluke. With the car still out of action I've been bussing in for the past month.

These are the things I've learned:

1. The landlord at The Anchor wears his dressing gown while straightening the outdoor furniture at ten to eight.
2. iPods are just as popular here as in London.
3. The bus home turns up about 35% of the time.
4. An umbrella is essential.
5. It's a long walk home.
