Die Another Day
Were I to die tomorrow
I'd never dine with you again,
feel the warmth of your smile rest upon me,
I'd never drink too much wine.
Should I die tomorrow
we'd not make it to that concert,
I'd not come in for coffee
after we'd caught the last train home,
I'd not talk with you through the wee small hours
then drive back home alone.
If I died tomorrow
I'd never know if you meant those things
about being fond of my company,
whether you really loved me
or if you only did in my dreams.
