This is going to slow me down. Suffolk County Council's responded to the Foot and Mouth outbreak by closing all the footpaths in the county.

Other counties have closed specific paths (information on which are open isn't always easy to come by), but the trend now seems to be blanket bans. I hope it doesn't last long.
