Greenbelt

Stages and bells

[St Mary-le-Bow]

They say that to be a true Cockney you have to be born within the sound of the bells of St Mary-le-Bow. One website tells of research to determine where precisely that is. It talks of ambient noise, weather patterns, wind and landscape and the effect they all have on how far sound travels.

Does this all sound familiar? If you've been part of any discussion about where we site stages at Greenbelt, it will.

It seems appropriate then, that on the night that the Management Group is making a decision about this year's stages, the meeting place is not the Greenbelt office, but the Court of Arches beneath the home of the Bow Bells.
