Just outside the town of Sandwich is a hamlet called Ham.
It's a difficult village to find. Whenever a sign is erected directing you to the place, it's stolen within days. The root of the problem lies in the name of the village and that of its neighbouring town.
Proudly displayed in houses throughout the county must be fingerpost signs with the combined directions. The closest I could find to the most stolen sign in Britain is this eight-foot version. Evidently student bedrooms don't have sufficient wall-space to display it in all its glory.
