Coastwalk

Walton-on-the-Naze → Kirby-le-Soken

[Going nowhere]

Distance: 8.6 miles
Ascent: 108 metres
Duration: 2 hours 43 minutes

Round The Naze
« St Osyth | Dovercourt »

The Naze is a headland north of Walton, pointing towards Harwich. Although there doesn't appear to be a complete public right of way round it, there was a well-worn footpath - no doubt a familiar circular walk to locals.

[Kirby-le-Soken]

Once back in Walton I walked inland on the road towards Kirby-le-Soken, turning back towards Hamford Water - the harbour/salt marsh between Walton and Harwich - at Island Lane. The lane ends at a causeway across to Horsey Island where the path winds round to the west following the edge of the marsh.
