Matt's up for the day, so for once I'm not walking alone.

After the drawn-out trek along the south bank of the Blackwater, I'd hoped to complete the north bank in one day. That wasn't to be. We made it to our destination of Tollesbury, but without completing the loop round the marshes to the east of the village. (To be honest, if we'd tried I think I would have died. Thankfully Matt pointed this out.)

[The Blackwater]

It's been another damp day, with the views cut short and the walking improved by talking. These can be tiresome stretches so it's great to have some company.

The north bank isn't as fractured with creeks and inlets as the south so almost all day we had clear views across the estuary. There was little movement in the air, so the water was perfectly still with a beautiful glassy appearance.
